The Cessna A-37B Dragonfly was one of the most effective light attack aircraft of the Vietnam War era. Developed from the T-37 Tweet trainer, the Dragonfly was transformed into a rugged close air support platform capable of carrying a surprisingly heavy weapons load while operating from forward airfields in support of ground forces.
This project follows the construction of Trumpeter's 1/48 scale A-37B Dragonfly. The goal is to create a highly detailed, display-quality replica that captures the distinctive appearance of this compact combat aircraft. Along the way, the build will incorporate aftermarket enhancements, careful painting techniques, and realistic weathering to represent an operational aircraft in service.
Each entry in this chronicle will document the progression of the build—from cockpit detailing and airframe assembly through painting, markings, weathering, and final presentation. Follow along as this iconic attack aircraft takes shape one step at a time.
